All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: July 23, 1964 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Dr. Randall Mixon Dies Wednesday In Boise, Idaho Dr. Randall Mixon, about 47, died in a Boise, Idaho hospital at 10:05 Wednesday, following a short illness. He was a native of Winn Parish and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence E. Mixon of Winnfield, who were enroute to his bedside when his death occurred. Dr. Mixon was pastor of the First Baptist Church of Boise, and was a member of the executive board of the American Baptist Convention. A graduate of Winnfield High School, Louisiana College, and the Ft. Worth Baptist Seminary, he received his doctor's degree from the Baptist Seminary in Kansas. He pastored a number of churches in Kansas and then in Sula Vista, Calif., near San Diego, before going to Boise. He has been guest speaker on a number of occasions in the First Baptist Church of Winnfield. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the First Baptist Church, Boise, Idaho, with burial in Dry Creek Cemetery, there. Surviving are his wife, the former Lois Young, native of DeRidder; four children, Richard, Charles, and Charlotte, all of Boise, and Mrs. Douglas Sage of South Alabama; his parents of Winnfield; one sister, Mrs. Calvin (Alice Nell) Bains of Shreveport; and three aunts, Mrs. Hasson Morris and Mrs. Olive Eagles of Winnfield, and Mrs. E. B. Barton of Sardis.
