Herbert Moss, Jr., Dies In Texas; Rites July 18

News has been received in Winnfield of the death of Herbert Moss, Jr., son of
former Joyce residents, the late Mr. Herbert Moss and Mrs. Moss.  Herbert
Moss, Jr. died July 17 in Valley Baptist Hospital in Harlingen, Texas.  He has
several relatives in the Winnfield area.

He was born in Manning, Texas, June 13, 1911 and has lived in Harlingen since
1944, going there from Rochelle, La.  He received his BBA degree from the
University of Texas in 1931.  Mr. Moss was a member of the First Methodist
Church, past president of the Harlingen Lions Club, and was active in many
civic affairs.  He was Sunday School superintendent with the Methodist
Church at Rochelle, La. for six years.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Antoinette Moss of Harlingen, Texas; a son,
Herbert Moss III of San Antonio; his mother, Mrs. Herbert Moss of Shreveport;
a sister, Mrs. G. L. Rowsey of San Antonio; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held July 18 at Harlingen with interment in Mont Meta
Memorial Park, San Benito.
