MACHEN FINAL RITES HELD AT CYPRESS CREEK Funeral Services for Mrs. Jeanette Hodge Machen, 57, of Winnfield, who died November 2, in a local hospital following a stroke several weeks ago were held at the Cypress Creek Church Sunday, Nov 4, at 2:30 pm, with the Rev. Eugene Langford officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were: Webb Hodge, J. D. Rudd, Jim Rudd, D. C. Carpenter, Alon Carpenter, Leon Carpenter. A native of the Calvin community, the deceased had made her home in Winnfield for many years. She was a member of the Calvin Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, P. F. Machen, and one daughter, Mrs. K. C. Carpenter, and five grandchildren, Winnfield; five sisters, Mrs. Maggie Cockerham, Rt. 2 Dodson, Mrs. Mattie Carpenter, Calvin; Mrs Mollie Carpenter, Goldonna; Mrs. Gertrude Rudd, Tannehill; Mrs. Pearl Powell, Baton Rouge; three brothers, Wise Hodge, Arthur Hodge, Bethlehem; Zack Hodge, Calvin. --- "Attend Funeral of Mrs. Pierce Machen" Among the relatives attending the funeral of Mrs. Pierce Machen here Sunday were: Morris Machen and family, Mrs. Alma Roberson and family, Mrs. and Mrs. Joe Thornton, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Flurry and daughter, Cecil Machen and family, all of Tallulah. --- NOTE: This was the obit & etc. notices as listed in the Winn Parish Enterprise and Winnfield News American on Nov 8, 1956.-- Annette Carpenter Womack, granddaughter. ###
