Monday, May 16th Mrs. C. M. Swanson has received a message from her brother, T. D. Machen, of Madill, Oklahoma, telling of the death of his wife in a sanitatium at Sherman, Texas on May 16. Mrs. Machen, who before her marriage ws Miss. Almeda Killing, was born in Winn Parish, thirty two years ago and as a bride came to Winnfield and resided until about ten years ago when with her husband moved away. She is a neice of T. J. Long of Winnfield. Her life was that of a devoted christian, faithful in her home and a loving patient mother. Funeral services were held at Madill, Oklahoma, where interment was made May 17. She is survived by her husband, T. D. Machen and four children, three boys and one girl. SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Truman Machen was the son of Francis Marion Machen and his wife Martha Milem. He married Nelda Killen on 12 August 1909 in Winn Parish. Francis Marion Machen is buried in the Bolton-Teagle Cemetery in Winn Parish. He is a brother to James Lewis Machen buried at Cypress Creek. ===================
