M. E. Machen, 76, Is Buried Sunday At Cypress Creek

Morris Edward Machen, 76, a resident of Madison Parish for the past 36 years,
died Saturday morning in a Vicksburg hospital.

A native of Winn Parish, he was a farmer, a Mason, and a member of New Hope
Baptist Church.

Services were held in Tallulah at 9:30 a.m. Sunday.  The Rev. Barney Holloway
and the Rev. John A. Tims officiated.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Minnie Machen of Tallulah; one son, James
Machen of Winnsboro; two daughters, Mrs. Lola Flurry of Sondheimer and Mrs.
Joe Thornton of Sondheimer; one daughter in law, Mrs. Cecil Machen of
Sondheimer; two brothers, P. F. Machen and H. M. Machen of Winnfield; two
sisters, Mrs. J. E. Frazier of Winnfield and Mrs. W. E. Roberson of Tallulah;
21 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
