Mrs. Nora P. Maher Succumbs; Buried In Wisconsin

Mrs. Nora Ann Porter Maher, 57, died in a Winnfield hospital Tuesday
afternoon.  She had been in ill health for a number of years.  Last rites were
conducted at the Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with
the pastor, Father B. F. McGuire, officiating.  Burial was scheduled to be
made in the Highland Memorial Cemetery in Appleton, Wisconsin.  The remains
lay in state at the Southern Funeral Home, Winnfield.

A native of Winn Parish, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. A.
Porter, members of Winn Parish pioneer families.

Surviving are her husband, Michael J. Maher, of Winnfield; four sisters,
Misses Lena and Loyce Porter of Winnfield; Mrs. Susan Hale of Natchez, Miss.,
and Mrs. R. C. Allen of Vinton, La.; four brothers, Marion, Edward, and Harold
Porter of Winnfield, and Aubry Porter of Lewisville, Ark.
