E. Malloy, Sr., Held February 5 James Erving Malloy, 74, native of Winn, died in an Alexandria hospital February 4, 1957, after a lengthy illness. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. J. H. Cockerham, Rev. Eugene Langford, and Rev. O. C. Clark officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers were John Bell, Harmon Porter, J. D. Boyd, Elroy Jones, Dr. Henry Parker, and Willis Russell. A retired farmer, Mr. Malloy was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ola Alice Malloy, Pleasant Hill; two sons, J. E. Malloy, Jr., and J. K. Malloy, all of Winnfield; two daughters, Mrs. H. W. Lucas of Pineville and Mrs. Fred Laing of Bastrop; one brother, J. B. Malloy of Pleasant Hill.
