An operation was performed Saturday night in an attempt to save his life, and the youth rallied Sunday, then rapidly grew weaker. Melvin was born in __vla, Okla., on July 13, 1018. He has been in Winnfield only a year, moving here form Kansas with his parents. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Alwin Stokes, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, Rev. Ellis Smith, pastor of the Methodist Church, and Rev. B. C. Land, pastor of the Baptist Church, Tuesday afternoon at 5 o'clock. The deceases is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Mann, and one brother, Max Franklin, age 13.
