Mrs. P. W. Martin, 84, Succumbs; Rites Saturday

Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Allen Martin, 84, of Winnfield were held
at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church here with the Revs. Calvin
Phelps, Charles Haley, and Thomas Cox officiating.

Burial was in the Winnfield City Cemetery under the direction of Southern
Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Mrs. Martin died Thursday, October 7, 1976, in a local hospital after a
lengthy illness.

Widow of P. W. Martin, she was a member of the First Baptist Church, of which
she was very active and native of Winn Parish.

During the years Martin Hospital was in operation, Mrs. Martin served for a
time as administrator.

Survivors include one son, Dr. Roy V. Martin of Winnfield; two daughters, Mrs.
Willie P. Swilley of Bossier City and Mrs. Virginia Cameron of Shalimar, Fla. 
seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Tommy Taylor, Jonathan Allen, Robin Stroud, Gene Porter,
Tommy Straughn, and Sammy Brian.
