Martin FRANCIS T. MARTIN Died: At his home near Couley, La., April 12th, 1910, Francis T. Martin, age about 20 years. He was the fifth son of Mr. and Mrs. E.P. Martin. His mother and one sister preceded him to the home beyond. The deceased, about the last of December, while sawing logs in the woods, was struck by a rebounding limb across the forehead which fractured his skull. He was at once carried to the sanitarium at Alexandria, where an operation was performed, removing the skull pressing the brain. In a short time he was able to be removed to his home. Seemingly, he regained his health, and his people were in good hopes that he would recover from the blow. His hearing wasn't good. Everyone thought that he was getting along as well as he could, until about a month before his death when he became very ill and continued to weaken until the Angel of Death called him home at the above date. Everything that was within human power was done for him. His brothers never left him while he was at the sanitorium. "Buck," as he was called by his home-folks and friends, was a young man of sterling qualities and high aspirations. The writer has associated with him for the past five years and he does not recall to his memory a time that he ever knew him to do an unmanly thing. As a fiend he would do to confide in. He was buried at the Couley cemetery Wednesday, the 13th inst. The burial services were conducted by Rev. H.T. Nichols. He leaves relatives and friends to mourn his death, but we hope that our loss is his eternal gain. May the Lord comfort those who mourn after him and may they have a happy reunion in that land beyond. A FRIEND.
