P. Martin, 80, Held Wednesday Funeral services for David Pearce Martin, 80, who died at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, at a local hospital, were held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Couley Double Church, with the Rev. Mrs. Lula Wardlow, Judge Cas Moss, and Rev. L. L. Booth officiating. Burial was in Couley Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Henry Keiffer, Jess Keiffer, Arnold Bice, Glesner Nichols, and D. W. Everett. A retired farmer, Mr. Martin was born, reared, and lived his entire life on the same farm, 11 miles from Winnfield on the Natchitoches highway. He was a descendant of a pioneer family of Winn Parish and was a member of the Calvin Baptist Church. His wife, Laura Teddlie Martin, preceded him in death. He leaves two sons, Asa and Eddie Martin, both of Route 3, Winnfield; three daughters, Mrs. Lois Everett, Alexandria; Mrs. Alice Kelly, Couley; and Mrs. Ida Briley, Montgomery; two brothers, Hardy Martin, Calvin, and Al Martin, of New York; two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Keiffer, Montgomery, and Mrs. Bess Nichols, Alexandria.
