Bailey Martin Dies In Houston Hospital Tuesday

Bailey Martin, 86, of Winnsboro, died at Baptist Hospital in Houston, Texas,
early Tuesday after a long illness.

He was president of the Franklin State Bank and Trust Co., of Winnsboro,
member of the Sardis Baptist Church, veteran of World War I, past president of
the Franklin Parish School Board, and member of the Winnsboro Chamber of
Commerce.

A native of Winn Parish, he was a Mason and a member of the Winnsboro Lion's
Club.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mulhearn Funeral Home
in Winnsboro, with burial in Providence Memorial Cemetery there with the Revs.
Joe Mongel and Wayne Stroud officiating.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Vera McCain Martin; a brother, Homer of
Winnsboro; two sisters, Mrs. Ethyl Poole, Epps, and Mrs. W. L. Fox, Monroe.
