C. Martin Cornelius C. Martin, 35, died suddenly Thursday night at his home at Crossett, Ark., after suffering a heart attack. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church of Crossett Friday with Rev. Wilford Lee, minister, officiating. Burial was in the Winnfield Cemetery on Saturday. Rev. Alwin Stokes and Rev. H. H. McBride, ministers of Winnfield, conducted the last rites at the grave. Mr. Martin was born and reared in Winnfield and graduated from the Winnfield High School. Before moving from Winnfield he was employed the Louisiana Highway Commission and the A. & P. store. Nine years ago he accepted a position with the Burr Store, Crossett, Ark., and was still employed by the firm at the time of his death. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crossett, the Masonic Lodge, and was vice-president of the Junior Chamber of Commerce of Crossett. He is survived by his wife, the former Lillian Steen; one daughter, Jerry Lynn; his mother, Mrs. Frances Martin of Winnfield; two sisters, Mrs. A. F. Tracy and Mrs. Mamie Cockfield, both of Winnfield; two brothers, L. H. Martin of Amite and Andrew Martin, of Winnfield.
