Mrs. E. Martin, Former Sikes Resident, Dies

Mrs. Elmer Martin, the former Linnie Walker, 70 years old, of Baker, La., died
Saturday morning at her residence following a long illness.  She was a former
resident of Sikes and of Winona Tower, where she resided 17 years before Mr.
Martin retired from the Forestry Service.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Yankee Springs Baptist Church
near Goldonna with the Revs. Glen Pippins and Louis Sullivan officiating. 
Burial was in the church cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Elmer Martin of Baker; one son, Elmer Martin,
Jr., of Orlando, Fla.; one daughter, Mrs. Lena Mayes of Baker; two brothers,
Anderson Walker and Francis Walker of Dry Prong; four sisters, Mrs. Armor
Arnold, Mrs. Marie Arnold, and Mrs. Alpha Hodnett, all of Dry Prong, and Mrs.
Nell Cox of Saline; and seven grandchildren.
