W.R. Gage and Dr. Calvin Phelps officiating. Burial was in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Mr. Martin died Sunday, April 13, 1980 in Rapides General Hospital after a short illness. He was veteran of World War II. He was amember of First Baptist Church of Winnfield, VFW Post 3800, Eastern Star Lodge 151 F&AM, and C.B.I. Hump Pilots Association. He was past president of the Winnfield Rotary Club. He was a retired Veterans Service Officer and presently was employed with the Soil Conservation Service. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Beverly Martin of Winnfield; a daughter, Melinda Ann Martin of Winnfield; and two brothers, Alton and Oswald Martin, both of Winnfield. Pallbearers were all nephews of Mr. and Mrs. Martin. They are Bobby Joe Martin of Vidor, Texas, Frank Martin of Jena, John Henry, Kenneth and Charles Martin of Calvin, John Brister III of Winnfield.
