May 3, 1962 Victim Of Paper Mill Accident Was Native Of Winn

Charles M. Martin, Sr., 40, employee of Olin Mathieson in West
Monroe, who died from injuries received Wednesday when the left sife
of his body was crushed by a 2000 pound battery pack as it slid from
a truck tipped forward under the load of a roll of paper.

Mr. Martin was a native of Winn and was the nephew of K. C. Simmons,
Principal of Dodson and Mrs. Albert Crain and Mrs. Cicero Gates, all
of Rt. 1, Dodson. He also had many other relatives in this
area.............

Last rites for Mr. Martin will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at McClendon
Baptist Church, outside West Monroe, with burial to follow in Twin
City Memorial Gardens.

He is survived by his wife, one son, three daughters; his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. John T. Martin and four brothers, all of West Monroe.

July 4, 1973 Funeral Rites For Mrs. Martin At Antioch Sat.

Mrs. Eula D. Martin, 72, of Friendship, died Thursday, June 28,
1973.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in the Antioch
Methodist Church near Goldonna with the Rev. Alton Toms and the Rev.
Bob Ezell officiating. Burial was in the Antioch Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, Roy Martin of Shreveport and Shelby
Martin of Bienville; two daughters, Mrs. Eva Jean Folden of
Jonesboro and Mrs. Inez Gibbs of Goldonna; three sisters, Mrs.
Edwards Usrey of Saline, Mrs. Jessie Martin of Saline, and Mrs. Lena
Weeks of Goldonna; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
