Died, at her home in Calvin, Jan. 28, 1916, Mrs. Clementic Martin. She was born in the State of Louisiana in the year 1835. Married Mr. Elijah Martin in the year 1859, who preceded her to the grave by forty years. Mrs. Martin has been in a low state of health for several years and for the passt few months she has realized that she was very near the end. She has borne up with Christian fortitude and expressed herself as ready to go. Mrs. Martin was converted and joined the Baptist church in early life and has lived a consistent Christian life every since. Realizing that she would soon be with her Savior, death had no terrors for her. It was only a transition from this land of suffering to a home with her Savior where sin, sorrow nor death, can never come. She leaves one brother and one sister and a host of other relatives and friends to survive her. Blessed thought that it is To man on earth given A ransomed soul, part of his Is now with Christ in heaven. Turn mortals, turn, Accept the proffered grace, And spend the realms of your life In love and perfect peace. REPORTER.
