J. Cecil Martin, Sr., 68, Dies; Rites Held Monday

James Cecil Martin, Sr., 68, of Calvin, died Saturday, December 27, 1969, in a
Winnfield hospital.  He was a member of the Calvin Baptist Church, Calvin
Masonic Lodge, and a native of Winn Parish.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nellie Martin of Calvin, six sons, James C.
Martin, Jr., James H. Martin, and Kenneth Martin of Calvin, Charles S. Martin
of Goldonna, Lewis F. Martin of Jena and Robert L. Martin of Bossier City; one
daughter, Mrs. Vernon Nugent of Tioga; three brothers, Oswald Martin, Alton
Martin, and Dalton Martin, all of Winnfield and 14 grandchildren.

fueral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Calvin Baptist Church with
Rev. Leonard Free and Rev. Grafton Shaw officiating.  Burial was in the
Sanders Chapel Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home.
