Winn Native Dies Friday In Jonesboro

Mrs. Katie Johnston Martin, 86, of Jonesboro died at 6 p.m. Friday, October 22,
1971 in Jackson Parish Hospital.  She was a native of Winn Parish and had been
a member of Zoar Methodist Church for 50 years.

Survivors include a son, Alton Martin, of Jonesboro; two daughters, Mrs. Flossie
Martin Edmonds of Jonesboro and Mrs. Oree Martin Ball of Shreveport; a sister,
Mrs. George Volentine of New Orleans, five grandchildren and five great
grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Jonesboro Methodist Church
with Rev. Dan Tohline officiating.  Burial was in Zoar Cemetery near Chatham.
