LOU MARTIN HELD AT GANSVILLE Final rites for Mrs. Lou Martin, 85, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jessie Orren, Jonesboro, March 20, 1949, were held at the Gansville cemetery March 21, with the Rev. J.A. Cockerham officiating. Assisting with the services were Rev. Calvin M. Robinson. Born in Lincoln parish March 27, 1863, she was married to W.H. "Uncle Bill" Martin Feb. 5 1884. They moved to Winn parish in the Gansville community and made their home there until Uncle Bill's death. In 1938 Mrs. Martin moved to Jackson parish to reside. Surviving are six daughters: Mrs. Gertie Hughes and Mrs. Jessie Orren, Jonesboro; Mrs. Ola Sharp, Corsicana, Tex.; Mrs. Allie Ray, May Pearl, Tex.; Mrs. Alma Jones and Mrs. Eunice Hutto, Dodson; and one son, Willie Martin, Jonesboro. She also leaves 24 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and two great [great] grandchildren.
