Mrs. Mathews Dies; Burial Near Verda

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday for Mrs. Weaver Mathews, 84, of
Montgomery in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield with the Rev.
John Rousseaux and the Rev. Peyton Bass officiating.

Burial was in the Iatt Cemetery at Verda.

Mrs. Mathews died Thursday, October 21, 1976 in a local nursing home after a
lengthy illness.

Survivors include one son, Albert Mathews of Bossier City; five daughters,
Mrs. Omera Beaton of West Monroe, Mrs. Laura McMellon of Montgomery, Mrs.
Catherine Boddie of Gibsland, Miss Eliza Mathews of Winnfield, and Mrs. Etha
LeJune of Wyoming; one brother, Ebb Hale of Montgomery; one sister, Mrs.
Tressie Fletcher of Montgomery; 23 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
