Mrs. Mittie Mathis, Winn Native, Dies In Shreveport

Mrs. Mittie Mathis, 77, native of Winn Parish, died suddenly at her home in
Shreveport September 12.  She was the widow of the late James S. Mathis, also
a native of Winn Parish.  She had been a resident of Shreveport 22 years.

Funeral services were held in Vivian Sunday, September 14, at 10 a.m. with
burial following in the Vivian Cemetery.

Mrs. Mathis is survived by four sons, two daughters, a number of
grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  She also leaves three sisters, Mrs.
Ruth Butts of Winnfield, Mrs. Kate Mathis Jones of Mooringsport, and Mrs. L.
F. Hamrick of Vivian; one brother, G. C. Bevill of Winnfield.

Mrs. Ruth Butts, Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Bevill, Guy Bevill, Mrs. Bruce Parker, and
Mrs. Jean Guilliams attended the funeral.
