MAXEY DIES SEPTEMBER 28, IS BURIED AT CALVIN Final rites for James F. Maxey, 64, of Calvin, were held Friday, September 29 at the Calvin Baptist church, with Rev. H.H. McBride officiating. Mr. Maxey was buried in Bethlehem cemetery. Born in 1885 in Caldwell parish, Mr. Maxey was long a resident of Calvin. He passed away at Winnfield on Thursday, September 28. Mr. Maxey was a member of the Calvin Baptist church. Surviving are his wife, five children: Jewel, Wheel and Boother Maxey, Mrs. Joe Mayo of Monroe, and Mrs. Jesse Shelton of Calvin; and five grandchildren. Mrs. Maxey plans to make her home with Mr. and Mrs. Shelton. Pall bearers were Elmo Anderson, K.C. Simmons, Charles Carter, Hershel Lowe, Jack Hodges and Mr. Carpenter.
