All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: July 7, 1932 Winn Parish Enterprise Last Rites Held For Train Victim Here Saturday Clabe Maxey, Killed by Train in Cisco, Texas, Last Thursday Morning Last rites for Claiborne "Clabe" Maxey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Maxey of Winnfield, who was killed when thrown under a train at Cisco, Texas, Thursday morning, June 30th, were held at the M. P. Church, South Winnfield, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. James Jones and the Rev. Alwin Stokes, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, had charge of the services. Interment was in the Jordan Hill Cemetery. The youth was 21 years, 9 months, and fifteen days of age. He was a popular football player of the Winnfield High School, having been a member of the team for four years. When the accident occurred the youth was enroute to Los Angeles, California, where his brother resides. Surviving the deceased are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Maxey, and the following sisters and brothers: Bessie, Elois, and Doris; Clarence, Robert, George, Arthur Ray, all of Winnfield; and J. T. of Los Angeles.
