Davies gedavies@winnfield.net February 18, 2008, 10:30 pm July 11, 1979 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Robert Maxey Services for Robert Maxey, 74, of Winnfield were held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Hixson Brothers Chapel with Rev. Robert Gage and Dr. Calvin Phelps officiating. Burial was in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Mr. Maxey died Tuesday, July 3, 1979 in the local hospital after a short illness. He was a Winn Parish native, retired brick mason, member of the BMPIU in Monroe and ARP in Winnfield, and First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Janie B. Maxey of Winnfield; two sons, Bobby Wayne Maxey of Houston and Donald James Maxey of Alexandria; one brother, Arthur Ray Maxey of Baton Rouge; three sisters, Bessie Varnell and Doris Varnell of Winnfield and Eloys Morris of Tylertown, Miss.; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were C. C. Taylor, L. W. Price, Earl Frederick, Edgar Broomfield, E. J. Buchanan, Harper Terrill, and Roddy Poole.
