Last Rites Held For J. D. Maxwell Of Georgetown

James D. Maxwell, 68, died at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday in an Alexandria hospital.  He
was a resident of Georgetown.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Maxwell; three sons, Earnest H.
Maxwell and Eldred A. Maxwell, both in the armed services, and Edwin S.
Maxwell of Columbia; two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Elaine Cassel of Welsh and
Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Grant of Columbia; five sisters, Mrs. Dewey Belcher and
Mrs. Julia Blackstock, both of Bakersfield, Calif., Mrs. Ella Batch of Swartz,
Mrs. Emma Hodges of Winnfield, Mrs. Sally Blackstock of Farmerville, and seven
grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Zion Baptist Church near
Georgetown with interment in the Zion Cemetery.

Hixson Brothers was in charge of the services.
