Mr. Maxey was a Confederate soldier and a member of the Big Creek Baptist Church, being a devoted Christian. He was married to Isephene McManus, to which union twelve children were born, seven of them surviving him, who are: Jim Maxey, Calvin, La.; Arthur Maxey, Winnfield; John Maxey, Joyce; Albert Maxey, Winnfield, Route 2; Jean Maxey, Zion; Mrs. Arthur Jordan, Winnfield, Route 2; Mrs. Nute Tilmon, Texas. Also, 46 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his death. Funeral services were held in Jordan Cemetery Monday evening, Rev. J. A.
