Mayes Killed in Fall at Pantex Plant Frank A. Mayes, 49, died Monday, February 12, at the Pantex Ordnance Plant Hospital, Amarillo, Texas, about half an hour after he toppled onto a flight of stairs down which he fell. Mayes was employed at Pantex as an electrician. Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 16, at the Amarillo First Baptist Church of which he was a member. The American Legion was in charge of the funeral. Burial was in the Plainview, Texas cemetery. Mayes was a native of Columbia, La., and resided in Sikes before going to Texas. He is survived by his wife of Texas; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Mayes of Columbia; five brothers, Horace, Monroe, La.; Henry and Bud, Columbia, La.; Curt, Sikes, La.; D. H. of Grayson, La.; and one sister, Mrs. Erma Thompson, Columbia, La. He was the nephew of W. S. and H. V. Mayes of Sikes.
