D. Tarver of Winnfield and a local resident for nine years, died in a hospital here last Thursday, October 6, 1949 at the age of 75 years. Funeral services were conducted at the Hixson Brothers Funeral Home at 9 a.m. on October 8, with the Rev. Fred S. Flurry, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Alwin Stokes, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, and interment was in the Greenwood Cemetery in Alexandria. Pallbearers were Ben Prive, Rugus Rogers, and H. E. Harlan of Winnfield, Robert McCoy and Ed Bowie of Pineville, and Horace Stiles of Alexandria. In addition to Mrs. Tarver, the deceased is survived by a son, James E.
