John W. Mayo Succumbs At 71; Rites At Corinth

Funeral services for John W. Mayo, 71, were held at 11 a.m. Friday in the
Corinth Baptist Church, the Rev. Alson Jeter officiating.  Burial was in the
church cemetery under the direction of the Southern Funeral Home.

He died Wednesday, January 3, 1968 in a local hospital after a long illness.

Survivors include three sons, R. E. Mayo, John W. Mayo, and Jessie Mayo, all
of Pasadena, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. Lee Ottice Berry of New Orleans; one
sister, Mrs. Ben Owens of Merryville; 16 grandchildren and four great
grandchildren.
