A. May, Well Known Here, Succumbs William Alfred May, 69, of Chatham, died Sunday at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was a former salesman for the U. B. Carpenter Wholesale of Winnfield. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Chatham Baptist Church with the Rev. W. L. Gilbert officiating, assisted by the Rev. G. T. Garrett and the Rev. Bill Moore. Burial was in the Chatham Cemetery. Mr. May, a native and lifelong resident of Chatham, served as police juror and was also a director of the North Delta Economic Development District Council. Survivors are his widow, two daughters, one son, his mother, one brother, one sister, and three grandchildren.
