All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: September 3, 1936 Winn Parish Enterprise Former Winnfield Girl Dies From Pimple Infection at Alexandria Nona McCann, aged 19, of Alexandria, died in a Shreveport hospital Saturday night from what attendants said was blood poisoning which developed after she picked a pimple on her neck. According to hospital reports, the young woman bruised her face Thursday, August 20, resulting in an infection which caused her right cheek to become swollen overnight. She was carried to Shreveport and admitted to the hospital on Monday, August 24. She died at 9:45 p.m. Saturday. Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Bertha McCainn of Alexandria; two brothers, Melvin McCann of Ruston and Rayburn McCann of Alexandria; one sister, Margie Dale McCann, Alexandria. Funeral services were conducted Monday at the home in Alexandria with interment in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Bentley. The deceased is a former resident of Winnfield where she attended school. A number of relatives and friends from Winnfield attended the last rites.
