James H. McBride Laid To Rest In Sardis Cemetery

Brother of B. W. Bailey of Winnfield And Well Known in This Parish

Funeral services for James Henry McBride were held at the Sardis Cemetery last
Monday afternoon, the Rev. C. C. Wier, pastor of the Winnfield Methodist
Church, in charge of the rites.

Mr. McBride died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. F. Mathis, near
Montgomery, January 4th.  He had been in ill health for a long time.  He was
the father of nine children, all of whom survive him except Mrs. Lucy Edwards. 
The are: Robert Lee McBride, Montgomery; Bryant McBride, Montgomery; Mrs. Ida
Greer, Harmon, La.; James T. McBride, California; Mrs. Lela Tyson, Verda; Mrs.
Ceola Mathis, Montgomery; and Mrs. Nettie Carroll, Baytown, Texas.  The
deceased is also survived by his widow and twenty-six grandchildren, one
sister, Mrs. Maude Long, Winnfield; and three brothers, B. W. Bailey,
Winnfield, Berrian Bailey, Natchitoches, and Dr. Bailey.

Mr. McBride was born September 27, 1859 and was reared in the Sardis
Community.  He was married to Miss Sabra Anne Moore October 14, 1880.  He was
a member of the Sardis Baptist Church.
