Mrs. Alice McCarty Of Sikes Succumbs To Brief Illness

Mrs. Alice Perkins McCarty, wife of Robert W. McCarty, died Friday, December
21st, at her home in Sikes following a brief illness of flu.  Mrs. McCarty was
46 years old, having lived her entire life in Sikes where she was born.  She
was a devout member of the Baptist Church of Sikes and was active in all
church work.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon with interment in the Hurricane
Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. McCarty is survived by her husband, Robert W. McCarty; six childdren,
five of whom are sons, Ivory of Shreveport, Ira, Troy, Shows of Sikes, and
Roy, a student at L. S. U., one daughter, Mrs. Thomas Dean, one brother, John
Perkins of Shreveport.
