Last Rites Are Held for Samuel Mount McCain. Samuel Mount McCain, 38 years of age, World War Veteran died at the Veteran's hospital in Alexandria, Friday, December 24, 1937 from asthma and heart trouble. He had been in ill health for many years, but had been in the hospital only two days when death came. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon with Rev. Alwin Stokes, pastor Winnfield Presbyterian church in charge. Interment was in the local cemetary. Mr McCain was born in Dubach, La., but had been residing in Winnfield for the past six years. He was a member of the Dubach Baptist Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Grace Mizell McCain, two children, J. B. and Rose Anne; his father E. S. McCain; one sister, Mrs. D. J. Houston, Coushatta; three brothers, Robert L. of Fort Worth, Texas; J. T. McCain, Hot Springs, Ark; and Edwin McCain, Alexandria.
