Mrs. McCartney Succumbs After Brief Illness

Iva Lois Strange McCartney, 58, died at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 27,
1967 at her residence near Olla after a brief illness.

She is survived by her husband, I. J. McCartney; two sons, James Richard
McCartney and Johnny Dewitt McCartney, both of Shreveport; three sisters, Mrs.
Julian McCartney and Mrs. J. O. Roberts, both of Winnfield, and Mrs. W. R.
Long of Pineville; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Beech Creek Baptist Church
with Rev. E. B. Barton, U. Thompson, and J. T. Allbritton officiating.  Burial
was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of
Winnfield.
