Father of A. J. McCartney Dies September 2

John Angus McCartney, 75, of Marthaville, died at 9:12 a.m. Wednesday,
September 2, 1970, in a Natchitoches Parish hospital.  He was a retired
carpenter.

Survivors included two sons, A. J. McCartney of Winnfield and Cullen McCartney
of Houston, Tex.; four daughters, Mrs. Eugene Pourciau and Mrs. Sadie
Pourciau, Mrs. Sidney Droughon, and Miss Gladys McCartney of Baton Rouge; two
brothers, G. L. McCartney and Keller McCartney of Atlanta, Georgia; three
sisters, Mrs. W. W. Youngblood of Marthaville, Mrs. Clyde Nabors of Zwolle,
and Mrs. Grady Parson of Shreveport, and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Beulah Methodist Church in
Natchitoches Parish with Rev. Homer Bailes and Rev. James C. Skinner
officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery.
