B. McDaniel, 85 Infection of Foot Results in Death of Aged Man An infection that set up in his foot after he had been bitten by an insect while working in the garden three weeks ago, caused the death of N. B. McDaniel, 85 years, at the home of his son, S. G. McDaniel, last Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Twenty-five years ago Mr. McDaniel was bitten by a spider on this same foot and periodically suffered with it. Funeral services were held at the Zion Hill Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. Alwin Stokes, pastor Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment was in the Zion Hill Cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home. Acting as pallbearers were Bill Kay, L. C. Carter, Louis Jenkins, Lee Townsend, Wiley Hammons, and Doug Pullig. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Mr. McDaniel came to Louisiana and settled in Union Parish. He was married to Miss Allie Mae Grafton of Union Parish and they later moved to Winn. He was a member of the Winnfield First Baptist Church. In his active years he farmed and followed public works. Surviving are three sons and three daughters: W. P. McDaniel of Dunn, La., Mrs. W. R. Wade, Joinerville, Texas, Mrs. Doug Pullig, Minden, M. M. McDaniel, S. G. McDaniel, and Mrs. L. H. Melton of Winnfield. Also surviving are one brother, Will McDaniel of Bernice, La., 26 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
