C. McDade, Well Known Negro, Dies Of Heart Attack Funeral services for V. Cumilla McDade, widely known Negro pulpwood hauler and landowner from the Calvin Negro settlement, who died of a heart attack December 13, were held at 2 p.m. December 17, at the Union Hill Baptist Church, with the pastor, Rev. P. L. Harris, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. The deceased was born October 21, 1889 in Winn Parish and was the oldest son of the late Wiley McDade and Janie Ann Hobdy McDade. He was a lifelong resident of the Union Hill community. Surviving are one daughter, Rodia Wheeler, six grandchildren; one sister, Lorene Valentine; two brothers, Clarence and Ellis McDade, all of Winnfield; and a host of relatives and friends.
