Mrs. D. McCarty Sikes Resident Buried Friday

Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 7, at Hurricane Grove Baptist Church
for Mrs. Della L. McCarty of West Monroe, a former resident of Sikes,
following her death in a Monroe hospital early Thursday.  Interment was
followed in the Hurricane Grove Cemetery under the direction of Southern
Funeral Home.

Mrs. McCarty was born at Sikes August 6, 1908.  She is survived by her
husband, G. C. McCarty; her father, Riley Lawrence; four brothers, Coy
Lawrence of Sikes, Troy Lawrence of West Monroe, Jack Lawrence, both recently
discharged from service, and Elzie Lawrence in service in California; a
sister, Mrs. Una Vee Wilson of Route 4, Winnfield; and three nephews and
three nieces.
