L. McDaniel Dies After Lengthy Illness Funeral services for Jessie Lee McDaniel, 64, of Winnfield, were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, at Southern Funeral Home here with Revs. Wilmer Jordan and James Gorham officiating. A native of Grant Parish, Mr. McDaniel was a member of the Baptist Church. Burial followed at Georgetown Cemetery. Mr. McDaniel died Monday, August 21, 1972, in a Pineville hospital after a lengthy illness. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Sarah Howard of Winnfield; two sisters, Mrs. O. S. Nugent and Mrs. Dan H. Nugent, both of Winnfield; two brothers, H. M. Howard of Pineville and Troy Howard of Wichita Falls; three nieces and one nephew. Pallbearers included Earl Weatherford, William Weatherford, Jimmy Ray Anyan, Clyde Lee Dubois, E. J. Buchanan, Shelby Sharpe, and Pete Varnell. Engles of Monroe, Crockett Engles of Tioga, Buford Engles of Buras, Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Lambert of Marksville, Mr. Gerald Glidewell of Olla, and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Orr of Wichita Falls, Texas, were among the out of town relatives here to attend the funeral of Jesse L. McDaniel on August 22.
