Mrs. Ella McDowell, Winn Native, Dies In Jonesboro

Mrs. Ella Jenkins McDowell, 75, of Hodge, died September 21 in a Jonesboro
hospital after a lengthy illness.  She was a native of Winnfield but had lived
in Hodge approximately 50 years and had served as postmistress at Hodge for
more than 43 years.

Last rites were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Hodge Baptist Church with
the Rev. J. D. Wagnon officiating.  Burial was in the Garden of Memories
Cemetery in Winnfield.

Survivors include two brothers, Mallory Jenkins of Winnfield and Wallace
Jenkins of Springhill; two sisters, Mrs. Earl Hughes and Mrs. F. A. DeJean,
both of Hodge.
