Mrs. McDow, 101, Dies; Burial At Friendship

Mrs. Josephine L. McDow, 101, of Sikes, died at 7 p.m. Thursday January 10,
1974 in a local hospital after a long illness.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Southern Funeral Home
Chapel with the Rev. Eugene Love and Roy Moore officiating.  Burial was in the
Friendship Cemetery.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Jessie McCarty of Sikes; one
stepdaughter, Mrs. E. L. Norred of Quitman; one stepson, Norman McDow of
Quitman; one sister, Mrs. Effie Rodgers of Monroe; eight grandchildren, 20
great grandchildren, and three great-great granchildren.

Pallbearers included Morgan L. Lowery, Stanley J. Smith, Rush M. McCarty, John
D. McDow, Gene Keen, and Joe McDow.
