C. McCarty, 60, Succumbs; Rites Wednesday George C. McCarty, 60, better known as "Big Mac," died at 7:30 p.m. at his residence in Winnfield. McCarty was a Master Mason, a member of Cedar Camp No. 107 Woodmen of the World, of which he was president. He was a member of the Hurricane Grove Baptist Church and had been employed by Max Thieme Chevrolet Co., for approximately 15 years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Juanita McCarty of Winnfield; five brothers, J. Wayne McCarty of West Monroe, Floyd A. McCarty of Natchitoches, Milo L. McCarty of Pollock, Cecil W. McCarty of Winnfield, and Elzie McCarty of Baton Rouge; and three sisters, Mrs. Curtis Sanders and Mrs. James Sanders, both of Dodson, and Mrs. C. J. Sanders of Pollock. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home with Rev. Billie Smithart officiating. Burial was in the Hurricane Grove Cemetery with Masonic graveside rites.
