L. McGuffee, 86, of Winnfield, succumbed Thursday, October 12, 1972, at 5:30 p.m. at Winnfield General Hospital after a short illness. A native of Catahoula Parish, Mrs. McGuffee had resided in Winnfield more than 30 years and was affiliated with Laurel Heights Baptist Church where she was a member of the W. M. U. and Sunday School class. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Winnfield with Rev. Charles Haley and Rev. Henry Mott officiating. Graveside services were held at Greenwood Cemetery in Pineville with Res. Shauer Batson in charge of services. Survivors include her husband, E. L. McGuffee of Winnfield; one daughter, Mrs. Emerson Agan of Alexandria; and one grandson, Steve Agan of Ruston. Pallbearers were Deacons of Laurel Heights Baptist Church including Dewitt Arbuthndt, J. Y. McGuffee, C. B. Allbritton, Jr., Herbert Terry, Albert E. Blackman, and Shelby Beasley, Jr.
