Rites Held For Robert McIlwain, Accident Victim

Funeral services for Robert C. McIlwain, 8, victim of an automobile accident
at Columbia on July 1, were held July 3rd at Mars Hill with the Rev. R.
Kitchenham conducting the rites.  Interment was in Mars Hill Cemetery.

The child was born in Montgomery where he lived until a few years ago when his
parents moved to Columbia.  Death was caused when the boy became frightened as
he crossed the highway and saw cars coming in both directions.  Pallbearers
were his classmates at school.

Surviving the deceased are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl McIlwain, a sister
and brother, all of Columbia; several uncles and aunts and a host of other
relatives.
