W. P. McIlwain, 82, Dies; Rites Held Wednesday

Willis P. McIlwain, 82, of Winnfield, died Tuesday, November 17, 1970, at
Winnfield General Hospital.

A native of Winn parish, Mr. McIlwain was a retired foreman with the highway
department, a member of the First Baptist Church, and a Master Mason.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Southern Funeral Home
Chapel with Dr. W. L. Holcomb of Pineville officiating.  Interment was in
Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, David McIlwain of Alexandria; one daughter, Mrs.
Lee Couvillion of Alexandria; three sisters, Mrs. Willie Capbell of Lufkin,
Texas, Mrs. Bertha Greer of Houston, Mrs. Arkay Greer of Houston; two
granddaughters and two grandsons.

Pallbearers included Rayford Roark, C. E. Sherwood, Fletcher Melton, Jewell
Nugent, Paul Shaw, and Johnny Jackson.
