McCartney Rites Held Wednesday

Funeral services of Jake McCartney, 71, of Olla, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday
at Pine Hill Baptist Church near Olla with the Revs. B. G. Dyess and E. P.
Bringol officiating.

Burial was at Pine Hill Cemetery.

Mr. McCartney died Monday, January 21, 1974 at Columbia Hospital after an
apparent heart attack.

He was a retired oil field laborer and a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Jewell C. McCartney of Olla; one son, Jimmy
L. McCartney of London, England; two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Newsom and mrs.
Pearl Fritz, both of Olla; two brothers, Luke McCartney of Olla and Jack
McCartney of Cutoff; and two grandchildren.
