Mrs. McLain, 85, Expires; Rites At Mars Hill

Mrs. Irene B. McLain, 85, died at 1:40 a.m. Tuesday, December 8, 1970, in a
Winnfield hospital after a long illness.  She was a resident of Montgomery.

Mrs. McLain was the widow of the late J. Andrew McLain, a member of Mars Hill
Baptist Church and a native of Winn Parish.

Survivors include two sons, Harrison McLain of Atlanta and Richard McLain of
Montgomery; three daughters, Mrs. C. O. Shaw of Montgomery, Mrs. Odelle Smith of
Pineville, Mrs. Frank Barton of Winnfield; five brothers, Ranel Brady of Atlanta,
Alan Brady of Winnfield, Allen Brady and Roy Brady of Gibson; a sister, Mrs.
Clarence Avant of Verda, 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at mars Hill Baptist Church, with
Revs. Ray Teal and C. W. Jones officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery
under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
