G. P. McManus officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern, Winnfield. McLain, 72, died at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 1983 in St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, Alexandria. He was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church, Montgomery, a retired school bus driver and electrician. Survivors include his wife, Clydell McLain of Montgomery; four sons, Melvin McLain, Arnold McLain, Walter McLain, all of Montgomery, and Donald McLain of San Antonio, Texas; four daughters, Linda Skinner and Sharon Bullock, both of Shreveport; Betty Langley of New Orleans, and Janet Crew of Montgomery; three sisters, Ivy Shaw of Montgomery, Hattie Barton of Winnfield, and LaVerne Smith of Alexandria; and 10 grandchildren.
